    •   This listing is for a rustic floating shelf and mounting frame. These are 6" deep, and 3" tall. ASK ABOUT CUSTOM SIZES. We are happy to make custom orders.

    These are custom built floating shelves made out of solid 1" nominal pine. The edges are cut to a 45 degree bevel and matched to hide the seams. Most other floating shelves are created with butt joints. These are meant to resemble a solid beam as closely as possible while still being hollow and lightweight. We then use an axe or hatchet to create hand hewn marks across the face the same way timbers were hewn 200+ years ago. Every face and edge is shaped to create a very rustic look. Next we add cracks to mimic splitting in the wood grain that would be present in a 200+ year old timber. Finally we apply the stain of your choice to match whatever look you are going for.

    Included with purchase is a wood mounting frame or skeleton that is first screwed into the wall studs and the shelf then simply slides over the frame. It can be adjusted left and right a few inches by sliding on the frame to get it exactly where you want it.

    Our mantels and shelves are unlike the other cookie cutter products sold online. Every product is created by hand and is unique and different from the next. They take a few weeks to build depending on how many orders we already have. Many times the build time is only 1-2 weeks but many times we are backed up and may take 4+ weeks.
