Copper Roofing Nails Slating (Roofing) Nails have a wide, level head, annular ring and sharp diamond tips. These nails are commonly used for copper flashing and during slate and tile roofing installations. They can be paired with Copper Burrs, or copper washers, to create a classic copper rivet, similar to clinch or clench nailing. The larger head diameter is ideal for use with softer woods. Copper rivets are often used in the construction of traditional planked wooden boats.
