Medieval Reconquista iron hinge strap is a tribute to Moorish Spain featuring diamond cutouts, trefoil scroll ends and harsh elements that are derived from Medieval Moorish style with graceful scrolls that soften the design and add a Spanish flair. When the Moors invaded the Iberian Peninsula in 711 (Today’s Spain, Portugal, and Septimania) the Christians tried to reclaim control of land, in Spain the 800 year long conflict is referred to as the Reconquista. This design goes well with Moorish, Spanish, Persian, Indian, Gothic, Moroccan, Medieval, and Mediterranean design styles.
